讓歌迷引頸期盼的艾薇兒第三張專輯”The Best Damn Thing”終於將在4月17日於美國率先發行，台灣則預計將在4月20日發行。
繼2004年美國熱賣三白金專輯「Under My Skin酷到骨子裡」之後，這張最新專輯”The Best Damn Thing”除了收錄艾薇兒與Dr. Luke為2006年福斯電影公司年度魔幻動作大片「Eragon龍騎士」所合寫的最新抒情單曲”Keep Holding On”之外, 還包括由艾薇兒與Dr Luke共同製作的叛逆搖滾首支單曲”Girlfriend”，預計在3月5日全美電台首度曝光, 音樂錄影帶則預計在2月26日全球首播。
“The Best Damn Thing”不但灌注了艾薇兒滿滿的信心，專輯充滿了清新的年輕活力、龐克搖滾的即興節拍、及讓人無法忘懷且朗朗上口的節奏及副歌，艾薇兒在這張專輯唱出對生命熱愛的歌頌，它更顯示出艾薇兒在音樂生涯中已成長蛻變為一位創作者及成熟的表演者，對這張全新專輯，艾薇兒以「代表作」來形容這張她認為是她最好的作品。
“The Best Damn Thing”中除收錄強而有力的流行快版龐克國歌”I Can Do Better”、“The Best Damn Thing”及”Girlfriend”之外, 另外還有將感性推到高峰的抒情曲”When You’re Gone”、“Innocence”及”Keep Holding On”。專輯中與艾薇兒共同創作的知名音樂人有Butch Walker (曾製作「Under My Skin 酷到骨子裡」)、Dr. Luke、Rob Cavallo (Green Day年輕歲月樂團、My Chemical Romance我的另類羅曼史樂團)，還有艾薇兒的新婚夫婿----來自Sum 41總數41樂團的Deryck Whibley德瑞克。
艾薇兒首張專輯”Let Go展翅高飛” 發行於2002年，榮獲八項葛萊美大獎題名，並獲RIAA美國唱片公會認證六白金唱片熱銷榮耀，更拿下加拿大Juno朱諾獎四項大獎(包括年度專輯及年度新人) ，全球熱賣一千六百萬張專輯，其中單曲”Complicated”、 “Sk8er Boi”、 “I’m With You”更成為風靡全球年輕世代的搖滾國歌，接下來2004年發行的第二張專輯”Under My Skin 酷到骨子裡”則狂掃美國、加拿大、英國的各榜冠軍，不但在美國榮獲三白金熱銷成績，更創造出”Don’t Tell Me”、“My Happy Ending”、“Nobody’s Home”三首暢銷單曲。

艾薇兒找到了一個讓她完全享受錄製第三張專輯的新方法!
有一次這位滑板美眉艾薇兒告訴MTV, 她是在微醺的狀態下創作她第三張專輯”The Best Damn Thing”的首支單曲,「我是在喝醉的情形下寫出”Girlfriend”的!」她承認, 「我從來沒有在錄音室玩得這麼瘋過, 我覺得這是我最棒的作品, 完全不同, 超級好玩!」
她懺悔坦承, 大家甚至可以在某首新歌裡面聽到一些碰杯的聲音。
「你可以聽得出來我在唱”I Can Do Better”的時候, 已經醉了, 因為我笑得很詭異!」她告訴我們。
「超酷的地方是, 我們寫好一首歌, 然後進錄音室, 他們錄下我第一次唱的版本 , 你可以說這是Demo試唱, 我們就直接用了耶! 一次OK!」。
